TallyPrime Excel Import Error — Mapping, Exceptions और Fix
“Unable to read the file”, “required fields are not set correctly in the mapping template” या import के बाद आधा data गायब — Excel import error लगभग हमेशा mapping template या Excel sheet की बनावट से आता है, TallyPrime से नहीं। TallyPrime अधूरी rows को exceptions में रखता है, उन्हें ठीक करके बाकी data import हो जाता है।

Fix steps — इसी क्रम में
- Backup first: Import शुरू करने से पहले company का backup लें।
- Excel sheet साफ़ करें: एक sheet में एक तरह का data, ऊपर एक header row, merged cells और बीच की खाली rows हटाएँ। Date को असली date format में और amount को number में रखें। File बंद करके रखें।
- Mapping template जाँचें: Alt+O (Import) → Manage → Mapping Templates → Masters या Transactions → Alter। Header row, “Import data from row … to …” और हर required field का column मिलाएँ। गलत field Calculator Panel में दिखता है।
- Import चलाएँ: Alt+O → Masters/Transactions → File Format Excel → file, sheet और template चुनें। पहली बार थोड़ी rows से test करें।
- Exceptions resolve करें: Alt+O → Exceptions में बची rows दिखती हैं। एक जैसी गलती कई rows में हो तो Alt+H (Multi Alter) से एक साथ ठीक करें।
- Log पढ़ें: TallyPrime folder की Tally.imp और Event Log में line-wise कारण मिलता है — मौजूदा masters/vouchers में बदलाव वाली गलतियाँ वहीं से पकड़ें।
- GST data: Party का State/Country और GSTIN Excel में न हो तो GST details अधूरी आती हैं और returns में vouchers uncertain हो सकते हैं (GST exceptions)।
Expert को कब बुलाएँ?
हज़ारों rows का bank/sales data, multi-item invoices, GST के साथ purchase register, या किसी दूसरे software से पूरा data लाना हो — तब template एक बार सही बनवाना सस्ता पड़ता है, वरना duplicate entries साफ़ करने में दिन लगते हैं।

Common Mistakes
Fail होने पर पूरा import दोबारा चलाना
जो rows पहले import हो चुकीं वे दोबारा बन सकती हैं। सिर्फ exceptions ठीक करें, या backup restore करके फिर import करें।
Ledger नाम Excel में अलग spelling से
“ABC Traders” और “ABC Traders.” अलग ledgers माने जाते हैं। Excel में नाम Tally masters से हूबहू मिलाएँ।
